Climate change hazards, physical infrastructure systems and health pathways

Abstract Climate-related hazards such as heatwaves, flooding, wildfires, and storms will increase morbidity mortality unless infrastructure decision-makers—including urban planners, asset managers, utility providers—implement preventive measures to protect public health from these hazards. Existing research policies have not systematically identified the key risk factors that decision-makers need manage in a changing climate. This gap leads unclarity regarding what interventions are required prevent climate-related risks actors responsibility risks. The Climate-Health-Infrastructure- Pathways Model is introduced this paper address provide conceptual map captures role of physical systems pathways between model surpasses can be found existing climate change policy, including latest IPCC reporting, qualitative tool offers typology for management.
